Developer Virginia Anderson and husband Chris selling jaw-dropping Queensland penthouse

83/45 Shore Street East, Cleveland is on the market.

Brisbane property developer Virginia Anderson and her husband Chris have listed their jaw-dropping Queensland penthouse — and it comes with custom-crafted 1000kg granite bathtub.

The statement piece was carved in Christchurch, New Zealand from a single piece of Indian granite, and was craned into the property during the building’s construction.

The huge six-bedroom six-bathroom 1247 sqm home in Cleveland, in Brisbane’s Bayside, spans two levels and comes with a string of luxury features including a lavish rooftop bar and nightclub.

Mrs Anderson, who is also a builder and designer, has lived at the property that crowns the Toondah Outlook tower for six years with her husband.

It is the couple’s second tilt at selling the property after listing it in late 2024.

Mrs and Mr Anderson spend their time between New Zealand and Cleveland, and while they are selling their much-loved penthouse, they plan to keep a second smaller apartment they own in the area.

“Chris and I have spent a lot of time in Queenstown where there is a lot of natural stone and timber in the architecture and design,” Mrs Anderson said.

“We were inspired by the rich colours and textures which create warm natural authentic spaces.”

Mrs Anderson said there were several standout features of the property including the copious amounts of private garaging and storage space.

She said one element, not obviously apparent in the listing photos, was the extraordinary degree of privacy, both acoustic and visual.

“Another is the attention to detail in the design elements.

“Every detail has been meticulously curated to the tenth degree, right down to the oiled bronze door handles and matching door hinges,” Mrs Anderson said.

She said the property had been a great place for entertaining over the years.

“We have had many intimate family gatherings in the dining room and a few large functions of 100 plus people in the bar area,” Mrs Anderson said.

The property has views of Moreton Bay.

The Andersons designed the penthouse to accommodate various living arrangements, from a large or extended family to a couple living on their own.

“This penthouse has been designed with segmented living spaces in conjunction with the use of natural stone, timbers, warm colours and textures, and has turned the otherwise vast 843 sqm of living space into inviting areas,” Mrs Anderson said.

“There are three separate wings, each with their own kitchenette/TV lounge, two of which can be closed off when not in use creating a manageable home for two people.”

The property has a price guide of $6m and is being marketed by Ray White Collective agent Christine Rudolph.

“Designed for both scale and substance, it features six bedrooms each with its own ensuite, two designer kitchens, multiple living zones, and a private internal lift,” Ms Rudolph said.

“The rooftop level is dedicated to entertaining, complete with a bar, fireplace, and jacuzzi, centred around original antique cabinetry and heritage details that give the space a unique character and warmth.

“This home is so rare it redefines the meaning of space and luxury.”
