Late last year an international trophy property hunter offered $41m for the biggest and best-positioned penthouse in Kurraba Residences on Kurraba Point.

It was an offer that was accepted – however, the China-based businessman pulled out when Donald Trump returned to the presidency, fearful of the financial impact of his country trading with the US.

Six months later the developers, Third.i, have decided to launch the newly finished two-storey penthouse to market.

The guide is now $35m.

The fourth and fifth floor luxury residence has 420sq m of internal accommodation, 200sq m externally including a garden and pool, and 270-degree views facing the harbour.

Luke Berry, of Hume Residential, says he can imagine a wealthy Australian pastoralist family, for instance, buying The Kurraba with its lock up and leave convenience, huge views and the quintessential pleasure of seeing children playing in the pool and on the lawn beside the harbour.

The penthouse is atop the 24-apartment development Kurraba Residences, which was built by respected Mosman builder Richard Crookes of Richard Crookes Constructions.

It also won a swag of awards including best condo development at the Asia Property Awards in 2020 and development of the year in medium density at The Urban Developer Awards.

However, just a handful of buyers have personally inspected the penthouse, which is filled with $1.5m worth of French furniture, also available to buy.
