Unusual reason Boomers bought ‘thrillseeker’ property

256 The Panorama, Tallai, on the Gold Coast sold for $2.9m.

An Aussie property with a halfpipe, tennis court, suspended treetop bridge and in-ground trampoline among its standout features has sold to a ‘Boomer’ couple in a $2.9m deal.

But the buyers weren’t attracted to the amenities on the property.

“It’s not really up their alley to be using trampolines or halfpipes,” marketing agent Taylor Kleinberg, of Kollosche, said.

New inner-city project plans to expand public spaces

“It was really just the general property and house itself that they saw value in and decided to purchase.

“The buyers wanted a tree change … and so they moved from central NSW to the area and really just fell in love with the peace and quiet.”

The estate, in the Gold Coast’s Hinterland, is named ‘Dreamland’ and was marketed by Mr Kleinberg and Brad Coyne as “paradise for the young and young at heart”.

The house is on a 5.65ha block at 256 The Panorama and captures city skyline and Hinterland views.

Other features include a jungle gym, mini golf green, log cubby and pool.

“There were families trying to purchase it but ultimately the retirees bought it,” Mr Kleinberg said.

There is 300sq m of decking that wraps around the two-level residence with covered and open-air spaces among the trees.

A cantilevered section among the treetops provides the perfect space to enjoy your morning coffee.

Inside, there are two separate living and dining zones that flow to the outdoors.

Tasmanian Oak hardwood floors and stone finishes feature throughout the residence giving it a contemporary feel.

The kitchen includes an integrated fridge freezer, Smeg oven, warming drawer and dishwasher and wine fridge.

There are four bedrooms including the main with dual rain showers, freestanding bath and ocean views.

Guests are also catered to with an elevated studio with ensuite and private entry.

Property records show the property last changed hands in 2017 before being renovated in 2019.

PropTrack data reveals the median house price in Tallai is $1.625, up 5.9 per cent over 12 months.

The highest reported sale in Tallai is $7.75m, paid last month for 453 The Panorama.
