Nicki Minaj at risk of losing $30.8m home over unpaid damages

Nicki Minaj is reportedly at risk of losing her $US20 million ($A30.8 million) home over debt amassed by an unpaid victim of an alleged assault involving her husband in 2019.

In documents obtained by Page Six, Thomas Weidenmüller has now asked the court to help him collect the money by placing Minaj’s 11-bedroom, Hidden Hills, California, home up for sale.

Weidenmüller claimed that Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, have refused to pay him more than $US500,000 ($A772,000).

“The dwelling is subject to a $US13,258,000 ($A20.4 million) mortgage lien and a $722,151 ($A1.1 million) homestead exemption — together just under $14 million ($A21.6 million),” the court documents read.

“The property’s current fair market value is appraised at $20 million ($A30.8 million), yielding approximately $US6 million ($A9.2 million) in equity beyond the lien and exemption. That amount is more than sufficient to satisfy the judgment, plus accrued interest and enforcement costs.”

Minaj’s enormous abode in Hidden Hills currently serves as her primary residence.

The expansive dwelling comes with eight bedrooms, several bathrooms, a resort-style pool, a cabana, a terrace with sweeping views of the hills, and a separate guesthouse.

The home spans sits in a wealthy neighbourhood, where several stars reside.

Minaj previously rented a $US28,000 ($A43,000) monthly dwelling in Calabasas in 2020. She also previously rented a pad in Beverly Hills for $35,000 ($A54,000) a month.

Minaj also once owned a $US10 million ($A15 million) abode with six bedrooms. It was her main residence before she picked up her Hidden Hills dwelling.

Mr Weidenmüller’s legal team claims in the documents that the sale of the pop star’s home “would satisfy the entire judgment, with millions to spare.”

“Minaj is a global music superstar, estimated to have a net worth of anywhere between $US150-190 million ($A231-293 million) and is reportedly the highest paid female rap star in the world,” the docs state.

“There is little doubt that she is highly capable of paying the judgment in full and, yet, she has refused to do so despite multiple written requests for payment and levies served upon several of her suspected creditors. [Weidenmüller] should not have to wait any longer.”

Us Weekly was first to report the news.

Addressing the legal filing on X, formerly known as Twitter, Minaj insisted that she was unaware any money was still owed to Weidenmuller, placing the blame for the issue on her business manager.

“I have evidence that this was given to a business [manager] who never told me,” she wrote. “My lawyers AND business [managers] (old & new) are AWARE. Let’s see if they’ll speak up or if I’ll have to call them out by name. That same business [manager] STOLE from me MANY times.”

When Weidenmüller worked as a security guard for Minaj’s 2019 concert in Germany, he claimed Petty, 47, sucker punched him in the jaw.

The incident allegedly occurred after the Starships emcee, born Onika Maraj, berated a female security guard for allowing a male fan to get onstage during her show.

Minaj, 42, allegedly yelled at the guard, calling her a “f**king bitch” while recording the belittling exchange.

Weidenmüller, who was the head of security for the evening, said he stepped up to console the crying guard before approaching the Barbershop: The Next Cut actress to discuss the alleged incident.

“Who do you think you are?” he claimed Minaj yelled before allegedly throwing her shoe at him.

Weidenmüller then claimed the Moment 4 Life rapper verbally berated him in her room before Petty punched him out of the blue, breaking his jaw.
