Hi-5 star Charli Robinson and her richlist racing car driver partner Liam Talbot have made a small fortune after selling their Queensland investment property.

Their Brisbane home sold under the hammer over the weekend for $3.36m, with eight registered bidders competing for the blue-chip Bulimba address.

73 Quay St, Bulimba sold for $3.36m.

The property was inherited from Mr Talbot’s father’s estate after the wide success of Macarthur Coal where Ken Talbot was major shareholder.

Property records reveal it was bought for $181,723 in September 1999, and was listed for rent a decade ago at $900 a week.

The five-bedroom home is set on a double block on Quay Street, a coveted area for developers.

Sarah Hackett of Place New Farm marketed the property and said the response to the campaign was exceptionally strong.

“This opportunity resonated with buyers from the moment it launched.

“Two lots, dual frontage and a position in one of Bulimba’s most tightly held riverside pockets made it incredibly appealing,” she said.

“The auction had great momentum, and the level of competition shows just how confident the market is in Brisbane’s inner east and its long-term value.

“Although the home itself was beautifully maintained and move-in ready, the scale and flexibility of the land were major drawcards.

“Buyers understood they would likely be waiting for another opportunity like this.”

She said blocks with genuine development potential were more competitive than ever.

“Buyers are becoming increasingly strategic, and when a site offers flexibility or future options, they’re willing to go further to secure it. Large blocks of land in Bulimba are becoming increasingly rare, which is exactly why they attract such strong bidding.”

Place Auctioneer Sam Kelso said the auction showcased genuine depth in the market.

“With eight registered bidders and multiple parties stepping back in at the critical moment, it was a great example of competitive, transparent auction conditions,” Mr Kelso said.

“The local buyer who secured it clearly recognised the significance of a parcel like this in Bulimba.”

The couple has two daughters — Kensington and Theadora — and regularly share snippets of their life online.

Mr Talbot is the son and heir to Queensland mining richlister Ken Talbot, who passed away in a plane crash in the Congo in 2010.

The family’s Chandler home base was bought by Mr Talbot in 2019, almost a year after their first daughter was born – with some of the perks being it has a massive 16 car park spaces, a separate two bedroom apartment for guests, wine cellar and privacy galore sitting on over 1ha of land.
