SOLD: Eight new record-breaking Tassie home sales

When Deloraine’s historic Calstock Estate hit the market, the sprawling 12ha, 12-bedroom home wasted no time finding a new custodian.

And now its spectacular sale price has been revealed.

New data from PropTrack shows nine Tasmania properties have set suburb record prices in the past year, highlighted by this Georgian showstopper.

No.14746 Highland Lakes Rd, Deloraine — which has links to thoroughbred racing horses, including the 1884 and 1885 Melbourne Cup winners, Malua and Sheet Anchor — sold for $7.27m.

That is a 114 per cent increase over the previous holder of the title for most expensive Deloraine home.

At the time of the sale, Insitu Property director Kristi Seymour revealed that its purchasers had inquired in week one of the six-week campaign, and had flown in to inspect the property.

She said the new owners bought the property for “their family to enjoy”.

“Alongside the homestead’s gorgeous Georgian architecture, the gardens and grounds were a huge part of their attraction to the property,” she said.

The recent sale of No.5 Seabird Ln, Rosny has pushed this Eastern Shore suburb’s record price up by 37 per cent to $1.85m.

Agent Ant Manton from LJ Hooker Pinnacle Property described the maritime-themed abode as offering “coastal living with real soul and serious scale”.

“It is ideal for families needing space, creatives chasing inspiration, or savvy buyers wanting to future-proof their lifestyle,” he said.

Last week, the Mercury revealed No.63 Cornwall St had been sold for a never-before-seen price for Rose Bay: $2.575m, 33 per cent more than the former record-holder’s $1.93m.

Harrison Agents consultant John Lennard said everything about this property is top quality: “It is an exquisite home with no expense spared.”

The price of No.91 Salamanca Pl, Battery Point is currently marked as “undisclosed” on realestate.com.au, however, the Mercury confirmed its $6.5m sale just days before Christmas last year.

Listing agent Abi Freeman from Elders Tasmania described the four-bedroom, triple-level home as a one-of-a-kind.

“The property attracted inquiries from all over the globe, and has been purchased by Tasmanians,” she said.

“What everyone said was they loved the location and how timeless the home is. They loved how it is a unique, special property, and well outside the norm.”

The previous high watermark for Battery Point was $5.1m, which was set in 2021 for a waterside home in coveted Clark Ave.
