SERHANT. strengthens leadership of new development team

SERHANT. is looking to bolster its new development division. On Friday, the Ryan Serhant-helmed brokerage announced two executive appointments to its new development team.

The new leaders include Peter Rooney, who will serve as the head of new development, and Ben Nicholls, who was named as director of planning and design.

“As SERHANT. continues to expand nationwide, we’re building the strongest new development team in the industry, who bring incredible experience, vision, and drive that will fuel and strengthen our platform, and help our agents and clients break new ground,” Serhant said in a statement.

Rooney has more than two decades of real estate industry experience in a variety of facets including brokerage, investment and large-scale development.

He has been a part of large condominium projects across California and New York City, and he has served as a principal at The Carlyle Group, where he oversaw major investments in mixed-use and residential developments. In addition, Rooney has held senior leadership roles at two national development firms.

“I’m excited to return to the new development side of the business and to help shape the next chapter of growth for SERHANT.,” Rooney said in a statement.

Like Rooney, Nicholls also comes to SERHANT. with 20-plus years of experience, but his background is as a licensed architect.

In addition, Nicholls has also served as the director of business development at Field Operations, which spearheaded major urban transformation projects in New York such as The High Line and Domino Waterfront in Brooklyn.

“I look forward to collaborating with the firm’s forward-thinking team and contributing to the creative energy that defines SERHANT,” Nicholls said in a statement.

Founded in 2020, SERHANT. said its new development team has sold more than $10 billion in new development projects.
