Ridiculously cheap: capital region property listed for $170k

9 Eyre Court, Russell Island

A Brisbane property close to the water has been listed for sale for just $169,950 but there is a catch.

That price includes a kit home in a large shipping container that is ready for construction.

Located on a 761sq m bush block on Russell Island, the sale includes the “surprise gift” in that shipping container.

“It is your home, waiting for you to cut that ribbon and create a special addition to this incredible piece of land,” the listing by Bay Islands Property agents Olivia Renata and Lisa Brett says.

“Everything is ready to be unpacked, already cut and measured in one giant, precise package.”

And that package contains a two-storey home with two verandas, a downstairs toilet and laundry, lower level family, dining, kitchen and meals areas, two upstairs bedrooms, an upstairs bathroom, built-in linene and robe, a Colorbond metal roof, aluminium framed sliding glass dors and windowns and ceiling fans.

The second level floor plan

“It is easy to imagine building a home here after being seduced by the charms of this block,” the listing says.

“It really does not get any better, or easier, than this package. Everything is here, waiting for you.”

Ms Brett said the owner was selling as they had decided to stay on the mainland.

“They have grandchildren and want to stay close to them,” she said.

“I know she had put the plans into council and they were approved.

“It is definitely a good property and a beautiful area, very charming.”
