But decades on, the Beverly Hills, 90210 cast have experienced lavish lifestyles, and for some, the financial pressures that come with life after a hit series.
The teen drama, which ran from 1990 to 2000, followed the lives of a group of friends living in the wealthy and privileged Beverly Hills as they transition from high school and into college and then into the adult world.
While their original salaries remain a closely guarded secret, the 2019 revival BH90210 reportedly saw the original cast, including Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling, pocket a cool $US70,000 ($A107,000) per episode.
From sprawling ranches to stylishly flipped mansions, their real estate moves reveal who made savvy investments and who struggled under the Hollywood spotlight.

Here’s a closer look at the property portfolios of the 90210 cast.
Luke Perry
Estimated Net Worth at time of passing: $US10 million ($A15 million)
At the time of his death, Luke Perry lived in a San Fernando Valley home worth $US2 million ($A3 million).
The property was transferred to his children from his revocable trust.
In 2015, the Fifth Element star sold a five-bedroom house for $US2.9 million ($A4.4 million).
Located in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles, Perry purchased the home in 1998 for $US967,500 ($A1.4 million).
The former teen heart-throb died at age 52 following a massive stroke.

He suffered a traumatic childhood, growing up with his abusive and alcoholic father Coy Luther Perry Jr.
According to a biography by Margaret Wappler called A Good Bad Boy: Luke Perry and How a Generation Grew Up, published fives years after the actor’s death, Perry’s dad was “a violent drunk who abused Luke’s mother”.
Ms Wappler quotes Luke Perry as having said: “I always felt that I should have been able to protect her better, but I was a six-year-old kid. That’s where my frustration stems from.”

Jason Priestley
Estimated Net Worth: $US12 million ($A18 million)
Jason Priestley has made a couple of property moves over the years.
The actor and director sold his mansion in Toluca Lake, California for $US2 million ($A3 million). He bought the property in 2007 for $US2.14 million ($A3.2 million).
The three-bedroom property features a stone fireplace, a swimming pool, a spa and a covered patio.
In 2014, Jason snapped up a home in Studio City, California, for $US2.7 million ($A4.1 million).

Shannen Doherty
Estimated Net Worth at time of passing: $US10 million ($A15 million)
Shannen Doherty’s longtime Malibu mansion hit the market for $US9.5 million ($A14.6 million), just over a year after her death.
The Charmed star died at the age of 53 after a nine-year battle with cancer.
Described as her personal “sanctuary”, the actress snapped up the estate in 2004 for $2.56 million ($A3.93 million), Realtor reports.
Doherty carried out an extensive renovation in 2018 after the property was damaged in the Woolsey Fire that same year.
The estate boasts a lap pool that overlooks the ocean, spa, edible garden and guesthouse.
Since Doherty had no children, the profits from the sale of her home will go to her mother, Rosa.

Jennie Garth
Estimated Net Worth: $US8 million ($A12 million)
Jennie Garth has taken that savvy approach to the property market with renovating and flipping homes.
In 2013, the What I Like About You star purchased Kathy Najimy’s Los Angeles home for $US2 million ($A3 million).
Its renovation was the subject of the 10-episode 2014 series The Jennie Garth Project.
The five-bedroom house features a koi pond, pool, a rock-climbing wall, putting green, an in-ground trampoline, monkey bars, and a firefighters’ pole.
Garth sold the property in 2018 for $US4.4 million ($A6.7 million).

Details of Ian Ziering’s current or recent real estate holdings are scarce. According to media reports, the actor owns a home in Los Angeles.
