Prize home up for sale days after draw

A luxury prize home has hit the market just days after the raffle draw, with the winner choosing to take gold instead of the property.

The fully furnished Gold Coast dream home was valued at $3.67m by Yourtown’s recent draw, while an alternative prize of gold bullion to the same amount was also on offer.

“A home to hold memories or gold to make them anywhere – what will you choose?” the charity asked.

The winner was a Sydney single mum who planned to invest in a home closer to her support network, Yourtown CEO Tracy Adams said.

“Every winner’s story is unique, and this one is especially heartwarming,” Ms Adams said. “She’s chosen a path that gives her family stability and the chance to build a future on her own terms. That’s the kind of impact we strive for.”

Yourtown acquired the 5,344 sqm property at 20A Tarrant Dr, Mudgeeraba for $3.31m in an off-market deal in March handled by Kollosche agent, Danny Stanley.

The five-bedroom home was designed by Jayson Pate

Records show the home is still held by the charity, and will be listed again with Mr Stanley – giving him the rare opportunity to sell the same property twice in a matter of months.

The sprawling five-bedroom, three-bathroom home was designed by Jayson Pate with stunning neutral tones and natural textures combined with high-end finishes.

Built in 2024 and formerly owned by auctioneer Glenn Screech, the home’s features include stunning skyline views, a resort-style pool, fire pit and multiple indoor and outdoor entertaining zones.

Mr Stanley said the property would be sold fully furnished, giving buyers a “turnkey luxury lifestyle experience”.

“This is a brand-new home offering a great lifestyle for families with plenty of space and privacy as well, with beautiful sunrise and sunset views of the Gold Coast,” Mr Stanley said.

It goes to auction in September

The property goes under the hammer on September 19.

More than 50 per cent of Yourtown winners move into their prize homes rather than sell or rent them, with the average hold period between one and three years.

“Some stay longer, while others sell sooner to capitalise on market conditions or relocate for lifestyle or work reasons. We also have many that stay forever,” Ms Adams said.

Other prize homes on the market include another contemporary coastal home listed in Palm Beach, one year after the winners took the keys.

The four-bedroom, two-bathroom home at 143 Tahiti Ave is marketed by Coastal agent Emisha Canning, and also goes to auction on September 19.

It had been fully renovated by its former owners, and was snapped up by Yourtown for $2.95m in March last year.

And further north on Bribie Island, a keen golfer who won a home with golf course views is giving up the dream less than two years on.

The prize home at 212 Freshwater Dr, Banksia Beach, is listed with a $1.55m price tag and marketed by Ray White Bribie Island agent, Bryce Hawkins.

Prize home properties were selected based on factors including location – lifestyle destinations were favoured, architectural design and build quality, market growth potential, and family-friendly features.

Yourtown often enhances the properties prior to its campaigns with interior styling and furnishing, landscaping and entertainment upgrades, and technology and electrical inclusions.
