North Queensland Cowboys prop Griffin Neame had two big wins last week – he scored a new contract and received the keys to his new investment property in Cairns.

The 24-year-old bought the block of land in the brand new The Palms Estate at Kewarra Beach in August 24 for $362,500, and received the keys to the finished house that was constructed by local company Bluewater Builders last Friday.

The Kewarra Beach house was listed for rent for $825 a week on November 1.

“This property is located in the brand new The Palms Estate (which is) renowned for lavishness in both a community and real-estate sense,” the listing by Ispire Real Estate says.

It has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a modern kitchen, a seperate and spacious living and dining space, a media room and a fully-fenced yard.

It is Neame’s second property purchase.

His Townsville property was puchased for $540,000 in 2022.

It was announced on Friday last week that Neame’s contract with the Cowboys have been extended to the end of the 2029 season.

“This is a really important signature for the club,” Cowboys general manager of football Micheal Luck said.

“This extension is a sign that our club sees Griffin as one of the leaders of our forward pack moving into the future.”

Neame said he was thrilled to remain in North Queensland, who, like a number of other high profile players and coaches, have seen the value in the North Queensland and Far North Queensland property market.

He worked with PRPTY360 founder Julian Fadini to secure the sale of the Kewarra Beack lot and the construction of the house.

Fadini’s clients have included Brisbane Broncos coach Michael “Madge” Maguire, Manly Sea Eagles prop Toafofoa Sipley and second rower Isaiah Papali’i of the Wests Tigers.

Other big name buyers in the Cairns region, who have also worked with Fadini, include St George Illawarra Dragons NRLW halfback Zali Hopkins, and Wests Tigers centre Starford To’a.

Hopkins snapped up a block of land $228,000 at postcard perfect Trinity Beach in 2021, and built a new home on the block.

It was first listed for rent for $670 a week in August 2023, and again in July.

Fadini said he worked with a lot of athletes looking to invest in property.

“What I love about Griff is that he is so loyal,” Fadini said.

“He brought up some Cowboys jerseys for the boys who built the house.”

Fadini said he was blown away by the support for the Cowboys across the region.

“Griff really believes the Cowboys have got a chance to go all the way to the grand final,” Fadini said.

“He loves North Queensland and North Queensland loves him.”

Fadini said the Northern Beaches of Cairns were a special place.

“It is something else,” he said.

“A lot of people don’t realise there is a high-end market in Cairns, a sector of the market not really seen in other regional cities.

“It is a great spot for both owner-occupiers and investors with Palm Cove nearby, the marina.

“It is just stunning.”
