How Hugh Jackman, Deborra-Lee Furness will split property portfolio

Deborra-Lee Furness has officially filed for divorce from Hugh Jackman nearly two years after they announced their split.

The two confirmed their separation in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage. They share two adopted kids: son Oscar, 25, and daughter Ava, 19.

It comes after news the ‘X-Men’ actor is preparing to move in with his new girlfriend, Sutton Foster.

According to New Idea, Foster and Jackman have moved into his New York City penthouse together.

An insider told the outlet Furness was upset that another woman was making herself at home in the home that she had “poured her soul into”.

“They’re inseparable. [Foster is] slowly migrating her things over to Hugh’s place,” the insider said.

The insider added that Furness is worried Jackman is moving too quickly in his new romance.

“She wants him to be happy — he deserves it and so do the kids — but Hugh’s completely green when it comes to dating,” the source went on.

“She’s concerned he’s leaping into living with someone else way too soon.

“It’s almost unreal [for Furness] seeing Sutton reap the rewards of all those years of her supporting Hugh,” another insider said.

Back in March, Furness and Jackman were reportedly struggling to see eye-to-eye on how to divide their $US250 million ($A387 million) fortune.

An insider told the Daily Mail that the “Correlli” actress was holding up their divorce as she felt “entitled to more money” than Jackman was offering at the time.

The pair have now reached an agreement. According to the documents, the divorce is uncontested and will require only a sign-off from a judge.

“A settlement was reached that Deborra is pleased with, which includes a handsome spousal support payment,” a source told the Daily Mail.

“There was some back and forth regarding this financial agreement but, in the end, [Deborra] got what she believed she deserved. Both are coming out of this financially secure.”

The insider added that Furness got the “closure she needed.”

Although details of Furness and Jackman’s divorce agreement have not yet been made public, they have several pricey shared assets — including several homes that were purchased during their marriage.

In 2008, the couple snapped up a stunning condo in New York City’s West Village neighbourhood for $US21 million, Realtor reports.

The three-floor property comes with five bedrooms, a spiral staircase, an exercise room, and more.

The couple listed the home in 2022 for $US38.9 million after picking up a penthouse in Chelsea.

According to Architectural Digest, it’s unclear whether the property was ever sold.

In 2015, Jackman and Furness purchased a 2.5-acre property in East Hampton, New York, for $US3.5 million.

Situated by the water, the property boasts three bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a guesthouse with a bedroom and two bathrooms.

The home features floor-to-ceiling glass doors and a stunning swimming pool.

It is unclear who will gain ownership of this dwelling after the divorce.

A year after purchasing their East Hampton home, the couple splashed out $US5.9 million on a property in Australia.

It is believed that Jackman will take over the three-bedroom Bondi home following their divorce.

Meanwhile, Foster filed for divorce from her husband of 10 years just months before confirming her new romance with Hugh Jackman.

The “Younger” actress filed for an uncontested divorce from screenwriter Ted Griffin on October 22, just months after she sold her historic estate in New York for $US2 million ($A3.03 million).

Foster, who appeared alongside Jackman in the smash-hit Broadway show “The Music Man,” had purchased the stunning home in Tuxedo Park, New York, in 2021 for $US1.6 million ($A2.4 million).

According to Realtor, the Tony Award winner decided to list the seven-bedroom property for $US2.2 million ($A3.3 million) in December 2023.

The decision to sell the home — which Foster once described as “magical” — cannot have been an easy one, particularly as she once told Architectural Digest that the house “felt like that home you want your kid to grow up in,” adding that she could see herself, Griffin, and their daughter, Emily, spending many a Christmas and holiday there.

Foster listed the home the same month that rumours began to swirl about her romance with Jackman.

Multiple reports claimed the pair’s onstage chemistry turned into a real-life relationship while they were starring in the wildly successful Broadway show “The Music Man,” which ran from December 2021 until January 2023.

Foster listed the home the same month rumours about her romance with Jackman began to swirl. Parts of this story first appeared in Realtor and were republished with permission.
