Connecticut firms merge under Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate brand

Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gaetano Marra Homes and Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Bannon & Hebert have merged operations — expanding their presence across Connecticut and consolidating under the Gaetano Marra Homes name.

The merger brings together approximately 150 affiliated sales associates across four offices in Monroe, Bridgeport, Newtown and Middlebury, Connecticut. Plans call for the combined company to strengthen its service in New Haven County and lay the groundwork for continued regional growth.

Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Bannon & Hebert was founded in 1996 by Mary Ann Hebert and Donna Bannon — both top-producing agents at the time.

Hebert will remain with the company and take on a new role leading recruitment efforts. Bannon continues to serve as an agent.

“With our 30th anniversary approaching in 2026, it was important to me to ensure the company Donna and I established continues to thrive,” Hebert said. “Joining forces with Gaetano represents the next step in our growth plans; the integration of our teams will allow us to set our agents up for even greater success. I am confident Gaetano’s energy, integrity, and leadership will lead us into a bright future.”

Gaetano Marra — broker and owner of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gaetano Marra Homes — said the expanded organization will offer greater support for agents and increase productivity across offices.

“I am truly honored that Mary Ann chose our company to further continue the legacy she has built, and it’s just going to get better from here in terms of increased agent support and productivity,” Marra said. “In addition, it’s a privilege to share that Mary Ann will lead our recruitment efforts in this new chapter.

“Her reputation in Connecticut real estate is unparalleled, providing us a competitive advantage in attracting top talent to the firm.”
