Chook family’s apartment sells for biggest price this year
3/41 Cremorne Rd, Cremorne Point sold for $12m, the highest price in the suburb this year.
The Bartter family who built up one of the nation’s biggest poultry businesses has sold their Cremorne Point apartment for the suburb’s highest price this year.
The four-bedroom apartment on Cremorne Rd, with more than 250sqm of internal space, was due to be auctioned on Saturday October 4 but the sold sticker went up on Wednesday afternoon and the sold sticker says it’s sold for $12m, which was the guide.
David Grant, of De Brennan Property, declined to comment but the fact that the home sold prior to auction suggests there was strong interest in the apartment.

Agents have been saying all year that single-level, well-located apartments on the lower north shore were on the up, as baby boomer retirees search for views, space and convenience.
The highest sale in Cremorne Point this year is $11m for a house in Kareela Rd so the Bartter apartment easily eclipses that.
The suburb record is $27.5m set in 2022 for the penthouse of The Ritz with its eight-car garage bought by Tesla chair Robyn Denholm.
The Cremorne Rd apartment has house-like proportions, lift access and panoramic 180-degree views spanning Mosman Bay.
In a boutique block of just four apartments the north-easterly residence is on the edge of Cremorne Point Reserve, moments from the picturesque Cremorne Walk and the ferry is a short level walk away.
It was pitched to downsizers from the upper and lower north shore.

The late Peter Bartter and his wife Jennifer bought the Cremorne Rd apartment in 2019 for $8.5m having downsized from their Mosman mansion.
They sold their Burran Ave house for $11.21m in 2019.
Despite living in Mosman for years Peter Bartter grew up and established his business Bartter Enterprises in Griffith NSW.
Peter and his brother David started chicken farming from their garage in 1955 and their company grew to become Griffiths biggest employer.
By the 1990s it was Australia’s second-largest poultry producer.
Bartter Enterprises acquired the Steggles brand in 1999 for $131m before being taken over themselves by Baiada Poultry in 2009.
Baiada Poultry is now Australia’s second largest chicken producer.
Peter died in 2021 aged 84.
