Buyers line up for harbourfront apartment within sought-after Latitude complex

Boasting picture-perfect harbourside views from nearly every angle and Hollywood’s elite as neighbours, this chic apartment is sure to be snapped up fast.

Imagine staring out of your window at one of Australia’s most iconic vistas – it’s a harbourside dream that could be yours when a luxe apartment is auctioned next month.

The prestige address at 1101/55 Lavender Street is steps away from the Sydney Harbour Bridge in the renowned Lower North Shore suburb of Milsons Point.

Breathtaking views from almost every vantage point capture the landmark, and vistas of Lavender Bay and the famed city skyline. It’s no wonder celeb A-listers like Oscar winner Nicole Kidman and husband, country music rocker Keith Urban, own several apartments in the ‘Latitude’ building built by Mirvac.

“There’s obviously the view, but this particular building is also really highly sought after and tightly held,” agent Nigel Mukhi, of McGrath McMahons Point, explained.

“The last three two-bedroom apartments to sell have all sold off market. They just don’t come up often.”

It’s the only apartment within the Latitude complex that’s currently listed on realestate.com.au. Within the first three hours of hitting the market, interest the prestige apartment was buzzing.

“Probably within that three hours, at least 50 inquiries have been emailed through,” Mr Mukhi said, adding this kind of sale attracts downsizers seeking a low-maintenance retreat.

“The kids have left and they want a bolthole so they can lock it up and go away for six months, which the current owners did and used it that way.”

“It’s a Mirvac building, so it’s quite highly regarded. In terms of lifestyle, you can walk into the city, catch the ferry, catch the train, bottle shops, shops, cafes, restaurants, everything,” Mr Mukhi added.

“The area is tightly held but that particular building has hardly any turnover at all.”

As well as views to the sparkling water and landmark harbour vistas – seen from two of the three bedrooms – the home has undergone a recent freshening up with new carpets, polished tiles and a paint job.

The main bedroom has an ensuite and balcony while the apartment also features an open plan lounge and dining area flooded in natural light, which flows out to a balcony with sweeping views. Residents also enjoy access to a resort-style pool, spa and gym.

The auction is scheduled for 4 September with a price guide of $7 million.

A slightly larger apartment in the same complex was quietly sold off market for around $8.5 million, Mr Mukhi said, achieving a record for the building.
