Aussie entrepreneur Fleur Madden selling jaw-dropping home

Fleur Madden is selling her Queensland home.

Aussie entrepreneur Fleur Madden and her mining executive husband Jimmy Gwisai are selling their luxury Queensland property they describe as their “dream home”.

The couple, who plans to split their time between Australia and the US, say they poured their heart and soul into the design and would be challenged to build a more beautiful home.

The kitchen includes a butler’s pantry.

The Brisbane house — known as The Palms — is a six-bedroom four-bathroom resort-style home in one of Coorparoo’s most exclusive streets.

“I feel like with this home I really understood my own style and how I wanted that to translate through the home,” said Ms Madden, who heads up The Ginsburg Business Advisory.

“The colour palette is super soft, white, blush and sage which really creates a calming environment.”

The house has a grand street presence.

Another living area.

Property records reveal the couple, who has two sons — Josiah and Theodore — bought the block in 2021, before embarking on their build.

The inspiration for the new house was taken from a property in the US.

“I had seen a similar home to ours from Palm Beach, Florida in 2018 and held on to that image,” she said.

“When it came time to design a new home, I knew I wanted it to be unique for Brisbane and keep the grandeur of the Florida architecture, but make it family friendly.”

Ms Madden leaned on family for the design and build — her brother is builder Nick Madden of Groove Properties and her mother is interior decorator Tracy Madden of Tracy Madden Interiors.

“I worked with both of them to bring my vision to life on this home,” Ms Madden said.

“It is truly special to build a family home for my family, with your family literally working on every element, especially when they are industry leaders you know you are in good hands.”

The kitchen, dining and living area.

The home was designed for family entertaining.

Standout features include a statement blush front door with shell knocker, curved staircase, 3m ceilings, checkerboard blush and white terrazzo tiles, and light oak timber floors.

“The curved staircase was always a must have,” she said.

“Growing up my parents home had a curved staircase and it was such a showstopper, both my brother and I have put curved staircases in our homes.”

Outside there is a covered alfresco area with a breezeblock-detailed outdoor kitchen as well as a firepit, pool and lawn.

But Ms Madden said it was the main bedroom on the second level that was a priority.

“The main bedroom truly is a retreat,” she said.

“It spans the width of the house and has huge his and hers robes.

“The ensuite has an incredible arch of blush tiles with a double shower.

“I adore this space.”

The dining room.

Place New Farm agents Sarah Hackett and Lauren Marmotta are marketing the property with expressions of interest closing August 28.

Ms Madden said while it was bittersweet to sell, the family plans to one day build again in Australia.

“Jimmy is a mining executive who works mostly overseas,” she said.

“We needed a more central base than Australia for him to come and go.

“We will be dividing our time between the US and Australia over the next few years.

“When we do return full-time I will be challenged to build a more beautiful home than this one.”
