A penthouse under construction on the Gold Coast has sold in a record deal worth more than $10m.

A Brisbane buyer splashed the sum on the luxury two-level apartment in the Chevron Island project, the most expensive property ever sold on the island locale.

The sale is in Queensland developer Sherpa Property Group’s Perspective Helm, a landmark $55m project with 10 boutique residences at 107 Stanhill Drive.

It surpasses the previous Chevron Island high of $9m achieved by the Chevron One penthouse in 2022.

Sherpa’s founder Christie Leet said the sale reinforced the scale, exclusivity and prestige of Perspective Helm, located in one of the Gold Coast’s most tightly held waterfront precincts.

“We’ve seen strong momentum for sales at Perspective Helm, with 90 per cent of residences now sold, and to have secured a contract on one of the penthouses is a significant milestone,” said Mr Leet.

“This result not only reflects the extraordinary calibre of Perspective Helm but also demonstrates ongoing buyer confidence and the robust demand for premium property across the Gold Coast.”

Only one apartment in Perspective Helm — penthouse nine — is left for sale, priced at $9.9m.

“We don’t expect penthouse nine to remain available for long, there is nothing comparable on the market right now,” said Mr Leet.

Penthouse nine spans 793 sqm across two levels, with four bedrooms and four bathrooms, as well as a powder room, cinema, multipurpose room, and a four-car garage.

Designed for entertaining, the penthouse has spacious indoor and outdoor living spaces, an outdoor kitchen, barbecue, private pool, pizza oven, and fire pit.

It also features a wine display cellar and a private rooftop oasis with views of the Gold Coast skyline and hinterland.

There is also a 60ft private marina berth included with the residence.

Situated on a 1,711 sqm north-facing site, Perspective Helm includes 57m of river frontage.
