Jetskis in pools, cops at doors: Prankster pulls pin on party life

Multi-millionaire prankster Jackson O’Doherty is officially cutting ties with his ‘party boy’ era of jetskis in the pool, cops at the door and never-ending body corporate battles.
After years of living like the Gold Coast’s self-appointed king of chaos, the 31-year-old content creator – who has two million followers on Facebook alone – has quietly signalled he may be done with the antics that made him rich, famous and frequently controversial.

He’s slapped his Queensland waterfront home on the market in a surprisingly low-key exit from the glitz and glamour of the Gold Coast A-list life.
Located in Helensvale, this is not his infamous Playboy Mansion Down Under where he hosted a $100,000 party complete with jetpacks blasting out of the pool, DJs and police visits, before selling it for $3.1m during the pandemic.
This is his other home. The “sensible” one. The one where he still somehow managed to get into trouble – from doing jetski laps in the pool to waging a months-long war with the gated estate’s body corporate so intense it ended up before the Queensland Body Corporate Commissioner.
Now, instead of viral stunts on the lawn, there’s a “For Sale” sign on the property which Mr O’Doherty picked up for $1.25m just six months before Covid hit. According to RPData valuation estimates, it could be worth between $2.2m to as high as $2.45m but in the current market it’s anyone’s guess where the eventual price could land given tight housing stock and a lack of listed waterfront homes.

Place Kangaroo Point agents Michael Bacon and Dan Rutherford have listed the property to go under the hammer just 12 days before Christmas, on December 13, with public inspections opening this week.
Unlike his previous high-octane Octagon House – the one with towering dementors, circus performers and all-night chaos – this Helensvale home is a complete shift in vibe.
Set on a quiet, premium canal strip in a gated estate, it comes with private pontoon access, sprawling outdoor entertaining areas and the kind of layout you’d expect from someone looking to calm things down.
“This five-bedroom home with direct canal access and a swimming pool presents a phenomenal opportunity,” the agents said, describing lofty ceilings, a neutral palette, a grand hallway, sweeping staircase and a spacious open-plan living and dining area.

A covered alfresco area flows to a fully fenced yard, mature gardens, a sparkling in-ground pool and a waterfront deck, with a powered pontoon for boating enthusiasts. The home also includes a 5kW solar system, ducted airconditioning, security cameras and Crimsafe screens, and sits close to Hope Island Marketplace and the Hope Island Resort Golf Course.
It might seem an unlikely fit for the online wild-child, but financially the move is savvy.
The home doubled as O’Doherty’s escape from the madness – though he still filmed and trained there.
While he remains classic Jackson online, getting pranked with a head shave and often oversharing life with fans, the sudden urge to sell raises the obvious question of where to next for the unpredictable social media star.
The home goes under the hammer at 10am on December 13.
