Block judge’s grim prediction for auction disaster

If The Block judge Marty Fox was the ‘I told you so’ type then contestants Han and Can would have copped a big one from him during the 2025 season finale.

The WA couple suffered an auction disaster when they failed to sell their home and Fox was the only one judge who saw it coming.

During the explosive grand finale, Han and Can were left devastated when their property failed to attract a single bid over their opening vendor bid of $3.1 million.

With no bidders registered for their auction in the days leading up to the event, a panicked pair even reached out to the likes of Ellen DeGeneres, Rebel Wilson and G Flip for support in drumming up interest for their property.

Rallying to their cry for help, G Flip gave the couple a shoutout on their social media, referring to Han and Can as “queer queens” and praising their “absolute banger” house.

Unfortunately, not even that celebrity endorsement helped the West Australian love birds get their house over the line.

Series judge Marty Fox instantly felt the girls’ Japanese themed garden was a misstep.

In the final days of the renos, series judge Marty Fox instantly felt the girls’ Japanese themed garden was a misstep.

“It has a lot of rock and a lot of paving for the kids to run around they could trip and hurt themselves,” he said. “It just has a harsher feel.

“The number of buyers you meet who really want a Japanese garden is slim.”

Even after guest judge Dave Franklin explained that the garden would be softened once the creepers and plants were given time to grow, Fox awarded the girls his lowest score of the day, prompting Han to declare the real estate agent a “butthead”.

The Daylesford house of The Block contestants Han and Can has hit the market as a regular listing after passing in at auction.

A butthead, Fox might be, but correct about the Japanese theme reducing the pool of potential buyers interested in the property? Absolutely bang on.

Han and Can could do nothing on auction day but watch as their hopes on The Block crashed and burned without a single bid.

Fox’s words came back to haunt the couple as the home ultimately passed in.

Fellow contestants Britt and Taz won the reno series after their house sold for $420,000 above the $2.99 million reserve.

Sonny and Alicia made $120,000 at auction, and Robby and Mat made $109,999.

Like Han and Can, Em and Ben’s home was passed in at auction.

These properties have now come onto the market as regular sales and contestants can still attain a profit under certain conditions.

Emma and Ben’s home has been listed with the couple as the preview image, while Han and Can’s home has a regular house picture as the main image.

A source close to the show said the price expectations for the houses were likely to be $3.1 million.
